“Nothing can be born without a good idea,” said Jean-Claude Biver, President of Hublot.
This good idea came about in 2004 when he first joined the Swiss firm and developed a new concept for the brand: “The Art of Fusion”, by leveraging on what Hublot watches were already characterised by – metal cases and rubber straps. In fact, Hublot was the first watchmaker that pioneered the idea of combining different materials since its debut in 1980.
As Mr Biver illustrated, “The Art of Fusion” lay in the combination of materials such as rubber and gold, that never appeared together under normal conditions. The former is harvested from a tree while the latter is mined from deep within earth; a brilliant juxtaposition of elements.
And since then, this term has been synonymous with Hublot and “The Art of Fusion” story remains written in all their pieces today.
Creativity, innovation and cutting edge design continue to influence Hublot’s philosophy of staying “unique, exclusive and avant-garde” yet not veering from the patrimony of watchmaking.
So come join us as we journey through the story of Hublot at Ngee Ann City, Civic Plaza from 16 to 26 August. Watch this space for more info.
